GLM Herefords is owned by Grant and Linda McKay and their children Bailey and Seth. Both Grant and Linda grew up showing and working with Polled Hereford cattle. Grant grew up on Whitegates Farm at Wawanesa, Manitoba and Linda on Crays Polled Herefords at Tobias, NE. GLM Herefords was established in 1993 with the purchase of G&R Bond's Justa Gal 2338, from Jim & Sue Rowland, Marysville, KS; followed by 2 cows from Ribblett Hereford Farm at Lincoln, NE The cows were leased out till 1997 when Grant and Linda moved to Blue Rapids and formed a partnership with the Dave Stump family. Six bred heifers were purchased from Circle D Polled Herefords in Canada, 8 cows from Ribblet Hereford Farms and a yearling bull, S&S Vaquero 28F, from Schuttes at Guide Rock, Ne. With these purchases our main bloodlines were Bond, Vaquero, Explosion, and KJ 107P Tyrone 924H. Bloodlines added through herdsires since are HH Hunter 592M, KJ 122L Leader 644N, and TH 121L 63N Tundra 16S.

Since that time we have moved to Franklin, Nebraska. We have worked very hard to produce both a sound and functional cowherd focusing on producing seedstock. We currently retain most of our heifers for replacements. We like to wait till after a heifer has her first calf to cull as this helps to insure we are keeping the best females possible. An extensive A.I. and E.T. program is used in order to obtain our goals.

Our most recent move was to Marysville, KS.
